Fun and Adventure with a Purpose

Although we may not have discovered the fabled El Dorado (yet), compared to the millions around the world living below the UN poverty line, most of us might as well be living in one. Therefore, we want to do our bit for those who may not be as fortunate and help some of the great initiatives that strive to make the world that little bit better. 

The idea is to help some local initiatives that do not normally get international exposure; which we will do in two ways. First we will donate the money raised by you to the charity of your choosing. In true democratic fashion, we will allow you to vote for which charity will get the money each year. The charity with the most Likes at the end gets the donation. Simple.

The other way in which we aim to help is by liaising with other local initiatives and arranging for you to stop off for a couple of days with them. This will be an optional benefit of the race that you may chose to take up at any point along the route. The idea is that, as we film some of you along the race, we will raise the profile of each initiative that you stop at and allow them to use that exposure to enhance their fundraising efforts as we go on. So obviously is fine if you want to disappear and drive off into the jungle before remerging in Georgetown. But, if you fancied checking out some of the amazing work that those wonderful people are doing in each country, they would receive you with open arms in true Latin American fashion.

So take a look at each charity, see the work that they are doing, cast your vote and let the fundraising begin!
